Holiday Madness

The holiday season here means a flurry of making! This pile of pre-ironed pouches on my studio floor is after a two-day marathon of sewing.

In the last month-and-a-half my sewing machine has made it through 150+ pouches and my loom has cranked out 12 feet of red and black gingham.

After saying that I suppose I should introduce myself; I learned weaving at Oberlin College in 2009. I love the quality of the fabric that weaving produces, the gentle variations in each piece of work that shows the maker’s hand. Every piece that I sew and / or weave has my handprint and I enjoy combining that with a utility that accompanies everyday life.
